It started as a suitcase problem

Every time I travelled to Thailand, I came home with my bag full of the same things: plant-based repellents, natural oils, the sort of gentle, well-made products you find in any Bangkok pharmacy and almost nowhere in Pakistan.

I wasn't stocking up for myself. I was stocking up for my daughter. I didn't want to spray her down with something synthetic every evening, and I couldn't find an alternative here worth buying.

So eventually I made one. The first batch of BuzzOff was mixed for her, not for sale. It worked, she didn't mind wearing it, and it seemed unreasonable that you should need a flight to Bangkok to get something this simple.

What's inside

Virgin olive oil infused with citronella, eucalyptus, geranium, peppermint and lavender. That is the entire formula. No DEET, no picaridin, no propellants, no artificial fragrance, no sticky residue.

Worth knowing

Plant-oil repellents are gentler on the skin, and they don't last as long as DEET does. Reapply every couple of hours if you're out for the whole evening. We'd rather tell you than let you find out.

How to use

Roll onto exposed skin - ankles, wrists, the back of the neck - before you head out. Reapply as needed. Avoid broken skin and the eye area.
